DAN
YACCARINO is an artist, writer, and producer living in New York
City who has written and illustrated over thirty childrens
books, most notably, Good Night, Mr. Night, Unlovable, Zoom! Zoom!
Zoom! Im Off to the Moon! and the Blast Off Boy and Blorp
series. He wrote and illustrated the recently released young adult
fantasy novel, Where The Four Winds Blow. His work in childrens
books garners a host of prestigious awards including AIGA, Parents
Choice, and Child Magazine in addition to many starred reviews in
Publishers Weekly. His book, Trashy Town is an ALA Notable.
Many of Dans books have been translated into foreign editions
including Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, and French.
Dans
commercial illustrations have graced the pages of countless publications
such as The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Time. He has created
images for a wide variety of advertising campaigns including Cotton
Inc., AT&T, Gardenburger and Sony. He has received awards from
Communication Arts, American Illustration, How Magazine, and the
Society of Illustrators, to name just a few.
In
2001, Dans animated television series, Oswald, premiered on
the Nickelodeon network to high praise and ratings as well as a
Parents Choice Award recommendation. Oswald and his whimsical
world is being enjoyed by children and adults alike in over two
dozen countries around the globe. Currently, Dan is writing and
illustrating more childrens books and is developing more television
as well as feature film projects. In 2002, Dan had the honor of
being invited to the White House to read his books and participate
in the annual Easter festivities.
